In 2016, the Arab Republic of Egypt launched the first version of its Sustainable Development Strategy:Egypt Vision 2030 , as a cornerstone for its comprehensive development journey. This strategy takes into account national priorities and aspirations, charting a roadmap to achieve sustainable development and fulfill the dreams and aspirations of the Egyptian people for a dignified and decent life,maximizing the utilization of all of Egypt's resources and capabilities.

The world's largest museum of ancient Egyptian antiquities. Located a few miles west of Cairo , it overlooks the Giza Pyramids . The museum houses over 100,000 artifacts from the ancient Egyptian , Greek , and Roman periods , as well as commercial and entertainment facilities, a restoration center, and a museum garden. It was designed to accommodate 5 million visitors annually. Egypt launched an international campaign to fund the museum's construction, with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) providing soft loans as a major contributor. The museum officially opened on November 1, 2015 , and is considered a major tourist destination contributing to the growth of Egypt's tourism sector .
